There is never a dull moment with our active, happy and loving four-year-old. Like most expectant parents, we dreamed lots of big dreams for Ian, just like we did with his older brothers and sister. it wasn't long into the pregnancy when we knew Ian would be facing special challenges in his life. Ian was born with spina bifida, a disfigured arm and profound hearing loss.
In addition to his other needs, we knew that it was extremely important to Ian's development that we pursue the options available to assist his hearing. We purchased hearing aids for our infant son at a tremendous expense. It was through this experience that we learned that MOST INSURANCE COMPANIES DO NOT COVER THE COST OF HEARING AIDS! Though we were fortunate enough to be able to purchase hearing aids for Ian, we have met many families who could not. This race is for them!
Ian ultimately required the use of a cochlear implant, but our resolve to help families who cannot afford hearing aids for their children remained strong. Our mission is to provide support, education and funding, so that every child who needs hearing aids will have them. We are amazed everyday at Ian's accomplishments and we are so greatful that God chose us to be his family, We hope you will be able to come and support this cause and have a chance to met this amazing little boy!
